Information about Our Surgery Vitamin Program

At our practice, we recommend VitaMedica Surgery Products, which provide important nutrients to support the healing process after a surgical procedure. Although recovery from surgery can be a slow and often painful process, we know that having adequate amounts of the vitamins and minerals the body needs to repair itself can go a long way in speeding this process and making recovery easier for the patient. VitaMedica offers specialized blends of targeted nutraceuticals that are designed to minimize some of the common side effects of surgery, such as swelling, bruising, and inflammation, while boosting the immune system and supporting the healing process.

VitaMedica also recognizes the importance of convenience and flexibility for the post-surgery patient. Their products are available in comprehensive program kits, as well as individually. Our physicians will help you determine which product or combination of products will be most effective for you.

The surgery supplements available through VitaMedica were created by an anesthesiologist and are designed to be safe, effective, and easy to use. These are some of the product packages available through our practice.

Clinical Support for Surgery

This multi-nutrient blend is designed for the specific needs of patients who are in recovery after an extensive surgical procedure. The morning/evening dosage schedule is convenient to follow and introduces vitamins into the system at optimal intervals. It combines the benefits of antioxidants, zinc, and vitamins A and C to support the immune system and expedite wound healing. At the same time, certain vitamins which may slow down the healing process, such as Vitamin E, are purposefully eliminated from our formulations.

Bromelain with Quercetin

Bromelain and Quercetin are naturally-occurring substances found in common food sources that both have significant anti-inflammatory effects. Obtained from the stem and fruit of the pineapple plant, Bromelain has been demonstrated to be helpful in the reduction of inflammation, especially for nasal and sinus applications. Quercetin is a plant pigment commonly found in such foods as onions and apples. VitaMedica offers this blend in an easy-to-swallow capsule that is not only helpful for post-surgical patients, but also recommended for patients undergoing treatment with dermal fillers or other injectables, such as BOTOX® Cosmetic.

Arnica Montana 30X

Arnica Montana 30X is a quick-dissolving tablet that is taken sublingually, or under the tongue. Made of high-quality arnica montana plants, which have a long-established history as a homeopathic remedy, this supplement is designed to minimize the swelling and bruising that are common after a surgical procedure. It is also useful for reducing these effects after an injectable treatment, such as Restylane®.
